The Criminal Law Competition provides students with practical

and professional experience in advocating for the defence or

prosecution, whether during a bail application or sentencing

submission.

This competition aims to engage students with their studies of

criminal law and ensure that students have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in a courtroom setting.

Appearances - Senior Counsel Appellant 30 seconds

Appearances - Senior Counsel Respondent 30 seconds

Submissions - Appellant 40 minutes (20 minutes per advocate)

Submissions - Respondent 40 minutes (20 minutes per advocate)

Feedback from Judge 10 minutes

If you do not wish to participate in the moot, we strongly encourage you to observe and learn from the advocates, particularly in the Grand Final.
